Yoga therapy

Contact Us arrow

Yoga Therapy is a process of repatterning, bringing your unique system into balance.

  • Using the lens of your Ayurvedic Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha)
  • Practices are chosen to pacify or ignite, as needed
  • What you link with increases those qualities in your system
  • The goal is functional balance

The Viniyoga approach views the human system as
comprised of five interconnected dimensions:

Body // breath // mind // personality // emotions

Like a ripple on a pond, what happens in one layer of our being, influences the others. Viniyoga Therapy has tools to address imbalances on each of these layers of our being. Accessing patterns (or symptoms) on one or more dimesion, that ripple out, influencing the whole.

Frequently asked questions

I’ve never done yoga. Do I need to be flexible?

Viniyoga has practices to meet you, wherever you begin. Come as you are.

What is the cost?

Individual Therapy Intake is $220. Follow-ups $125-180. You deserve quality care. Honor system sliding scale.

We reserve two deeply reduced sliding scale spots for those whose financial need is beyond our standard fees.

We accept cash, personal check, Paypal and Venmo.

What do I need to bring to the studio for my first visit?

Wear anything comfortable you can move in.
The studio has all mats and supplies you may need, but if you have your own mat, blanket or props and prefer, please feel free to bring. Since Covid, bringing your own is especially appreciated.

Do you take insurance?

I can provide you with an invoice for reimbursement, but we do not take insurance at this time.

What are your credentials and background?

I have extensive formal training, but my main credential is decades of daily personal practice.

My personal mentor is Chase Bossart (of Yoga Well Institute). Gary Kraftsow presently oversees my personal practice (American Viniyoga Institute). My mentor before Chase and Gary was Dawn Summers (of New Dawn Yoga Therapy). I've studied within the tradition with Dolphi Wertenbaker, Amy Wheeler, and Leslie Kaminoff.

I am International Association of Yoga Therapists Certified to practice Yoga Therapy in the Viniyoga Tradition.

I hold an MA in Counseling Psychology and am registered as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.

I hold a BA in Studio Art (glass and ceramics) and practiced as a conceptual artist, across mediums, for many years.

The root of these three callings is one and the same: cultivating the space to have a moment of perspective- to stop, take a breath, feel the feet on the ground and become aware- these moments bring us into connection with ourselves and others, and I've devoted my life's work to that.
